Slingerlands 1000 Book Project

Filed in Slingerlands by on June 19, 2017

The heart of the 1000 Book Project, which is sponsored by the Slingerlands PTO, is to foster a lifelong love of reading, beginning at an early age.  The 1000 Book Project is a voluntary, read-aloud program offered to students in kindergarten and first grade.

This project is made possible with the help of amazing, parent volunteers who coordinate and manage weekly bag distribution for over 100 students from October through June. In the Primary Wing, there are 110 blue tote bags with an assortment of 10 books in each bag.

Thank you to the following parents for your wonderful dedication and time: Tracy Momrow, Cate Keating, Sarah Allawala, Hilary Bernacki, Zehra Meghani, Kerry Pilak and Shali Natesan.

The 1000 Book Committee would like to highlight the top students from Kindergarten and First Grade who had the highest number of total books read throughout the project.
