Parenting expert Tom Kersting to host technology forum on Mar. 18

Digitally Distracted: Parenting in the Age of Technology – Monday, March 18

Monday, March 18, Tom Kersting PresentsBethlehem Central School District invites you to join School Counselor Tom Kersting for a special presentation on technology use, screen time management, and more!

When: Monday, March 18 at 6:30 p.m.

Where: Bethlehem Central High School Auditorium

What will I learn? This program is an eye-opener and will include tips to help live in the real world and less in the cyber world. This program will provide training and education in:

  • Technology use and mental health
  • How much screen time is too much?
  • Strategies to help your child reduce anxiety
  • Creating leaders, not followers
  • Your role as a parent

Tom Kersting is a nationally renowned authority in mental health, parenting and wellness and author of the book, Disconnected – How to Reconnect Our Digitally Distracted Kids. He is the founder/owner of Valley Family Counseling in Ridgewood, NJ and has 20 years of experience as a private practice therapist and school counselor, and 11 years as a parent. Tom is the co-host of the A&E Network television series Surviving Marriage and has made over 100 television appearances, including regular appearances on popular talk shows. Child care available during presentation

The district is offering child care services during the presentation in order to assist our BC families who may be unable to attend due to child care needs. Children ages 4-12 are welcome.

Children will be supervised by school personnel and volunteer high school students, who will run many fun activities for those who attend. Confirmation and other instructions will be emailed to you after registering your child(ren).
