The Bethlehem Central School District is looking for bus drivers and attendants. Join our team in the Transportation Department!


Information for drivers

You do not need a commercial license to apply. Not sure about driving a bus? Try it for yourself.

You can TEST DRIVE a school bus at our Open House. You need to be 21 years of age with a clean driving record. Drivers work flexible, part-time schedules and begin at a rate of $17.86 an hour.

Bethlehem bus drivers typically work in the morning and the afternoon with a long break in between. Interested drivers may also be able to cover additional after-school runs and sports or field trips, but otherwise, can count on having weekends, evenings and summers off as well as school holidays and breaks.


Information for attendants

Bus Attendants are required to manipulate and secure students in wheelchairs or other mobility adaptive equipment.  Bus Attendants are required to help secure students in their bus seats, and to help carry their book bags as needed when boarding and disembarking. The substitute starting rate is $11.80 per hour. Once attendants have a contract of four or more hours, the pay increases to $15.35 an hour, with benefits.
