Updated Geometry Regents test scores – June 2017 exams

Filed in BCHS by on August 4, 2017

The following is an important message from Assistant Superintendent for Educational Programs Dave Hurst regarding scores from the June 2017 Geometry (Common Core) Regents exam:

On Tuesday, July 25, 2017, the New York State Education Department released an important scoring notice addressing an error on Question 24 on the statewide June 2017 Regents Examination in Geometry (Common Core), indicating that a discrepancy in the wording of Question 24 resulted in no clear and correct answer for this question. As a result, scores would be adjusted giving all students credit for Question 24 on the June examThis test was administered to students on Friday, June 16, 2017.

As a result of the NYSED notice, all June 16 Common Core Geometry exams have been reprocessed and appropriately scored by the Northeast Regional Information Center (NERIC), the vendor the district uses to score all Regents exams. NERIC shared the updated test results from the Common Core Geometry exam with the district and we have updated all impacted student records in ASPEN. End-of-year report cards are also being republished.

Should you have any questions, please contact our K-12 Mathematics Supervisor, Bill Clairmont by email at or by phone at 518-439-4921 or you student’s counselor.

This information has been emailed directly, via Aspen, to all students whose test scores were impacted by the NYSED action.
