First graders at Elsmere Elementary School just finished their science unit on weather. Offering them an inside look at all things weather was WNYT Channel 13 meteorologist Bob Kovachick who visited the school on Feb. 1. He spoke to the students about his job studying weather patterns and sharing his daily forecast with viewers. Mr. Kovachick also discussed different types of weather events like tornadoes, hurricanes and water spouts. He concluded his visit by reading a book about wind to the students and told them that the very first thing you look at when you want to predict tomorrow’s weather is the wind: where it’s coming from, how fast it is moving, and where it is headed.

Thank you Meteorologist Bob Kovachick for visiting Elsmere today!

Watch for a special Elsmere/BC shout-out on the WNYT Channel 13 news on Wednesday, Feb. 1 during the 6 p.m. broadcast.
