To help balance future enrollment and class sizes in grades K–5, the Bethlehem Central Board of Education will review three newly developed elementary rezoning options at its December 17 meeting. The options will be presented by Tyler Technologies, the mapping and data firm hired by the district to conduct the elementary zoning study.
The three new proposals are outlined below. The Board of Education is expected to decide on rezoning in January 2026.
Within the three options, moves are proposed for up to 16 Neighborhood Planning Units, or NPUs, in the district. These include nine NPUs that had not been slated for changes in previous proposals. A full district NPU map can be viewed here.
Two of the three proposals (Options 1 and 2) were developed in collaboration with a stakeholder committee following several meetings. Tyler Technologies has added the third option (Option 2-A). All three proposals reflect feedback gathered throughout the fall, including input shared at a November community forum.
The three proposals will be discussed in detail at the Dec. 17 Board meeting, which will be held at 7 p.m. in Room D-122 at the high school. The meeting will also be livestreamed.
