On Saturday, February 28, three athletes from the Bethlehem varsity gymnastics team competed at the NYSPHSAA Gymnastics State Championship held in Utica, NY. The BC athletes competed as part of the Section 2 team. The team included a total of 13 athletes from Bethlehem, Guilderland, Shaker-Colonie, and Saratoga who qualified for states by earning the top scores of the season for bars, beam, vault, floor exercise, and all-around.
The Bethlehem athletes who competed this past weekend are:
- Brynn Colwell, a sophomore, competed in floor exercise;
- Caroline Cronlund, a senior, competed on bars; and
- Jade Fountain-Roesser, a sophomore, competed on vault, beam, and floor exercise.
Sophomore Jade Fountain-Roesser was the only Section 2 athlete to earn a top 10 podium spot for an event, with a score of 9.4 on vault! This was a season high and a great accomplishment.
Congratulations to each of these athletes on their performances and hard work this season!
