Kies honored as NYSPHSAA Section 2 Athletic Director of the Year

Bethlehem Central Athletic Director Len Kies has been named the NYSPHSAA Section 2 Athletic Director of the Year. The award recognizes exceptional leadership and meaningful contributions to interscholastic athletics.

The honor was presented at the Capital Area School Development Association’s (CASDA) Capital Region Education Awards ceremony on April 30, celebrating Kies’s long-standing commitment to student-athletes and the district’s athletic programs.

As BCSD’s director of athletics and wellness, Kies has overseen a broad athletic program that supports student success on and off the field. Throughout his career, he has served as a coach and administrator and played an active role in regional and state athletic organizations.

“Len has dedicated his career to creating opportunities to grow through athletics,” said Superintendent Jody Monroe. “His leadership and commitment to our student-athletes have had a lasting impact on our schools and community. This recognition is a well-deserved tribute to his years of service.”

Kies will retire from Bethlehem in June, concluding a distinguished career as a coach, educator, and athletic administrator.
