Bethlehem Central High School has been rated the number one high school in the Albany metro area by U.S. News & World Report in the national 2026-27 Best High Schools list. The Albany metro area includes 47 public high schools in the greater Capital Region. The high school was also ranked #75 in New York State.
The online rankings were released on Tuesday, August 18, 2026.
Bethlehem Central High School’s high rating included exceptional performance by students in core classes. Mathematics proficiency (94%), reading proficiency (98%), science proficiency (96%), and a graduation rate of 97% all contributed to the #1 ranking.
