
BCMS Families are invited to join us for the BCMS PTO Fall Community Meeting on Tuesday, October 13 from 7:00-8:00pm in the Library Media Center (LMC).
The meeting is open to everyone, and students are encouraged to attend! The evening’s featured presentation is especially relevant for Middle School students and older Elementary-aged children who may be approaching the age of staying home alone or beginning to babysit.
Featured Presentation: Be Prepared: Staying Safe at Home & Beyond
Jennifer Speenburgh, Trainer, Speaker & Development Coach with Well Source Development, will lead a practical safety presentation for parents and students covering important topics such as:
- Personal safety skills for children staying home alone or supervising other children
- What to do when someone unexpectedly comes to the door, calls, or contacts them
- Recognizing the difference between a problem and a true elemergyc
- When and how to call 911
- How to respond if someone is choking while home alone
The BCMS PTO Membership Table will also be available that evening for families interested in learning more about the PTO or becoming a member.
