Bethlehem Central High School has announced it is expanding late bus options for students in grades 9-12. The school will add a modified 3 p.m. bus run on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
The new Weds/Thurs 3 p.m. buses will begin Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2026, and will serve the following areas:
-
- Glenmont area (Rte. 124)
- Elsmere area (Rte. 112)
- Slingerlands area (Rte. 146)
- Clarksville area (Rte. 151/Rte. 152)
The buses will board at the Athletic entrance (Gym B) of the high school
The new Wednesday and Thursday bus runs are in addition to the existing 3:45 late bus available to students Tuesday through Friday. The new 3 p.m. service is intended to provide students with additional opportunities to seek extra help, or to participate in extracurricular activities at school.
The 3 p.m. BCHS bus run is a pilot project. Students must SIGN UP in the main office to take the 3 p.m. bus. Sign-up sheets will be available in the main office for the 3 p.m. late buses. A student must request the 3 p.m. late bus by 12 noon on the day of departure. No sign-ups are required for the existing 3:45 late bus.
Whether the BCHS service becomes permanent will depend on student interest levels, availability of bus drivers to staff the additional run, and the efficiency of the new service.
REMINDER: You can skip the morning madness at the high school by using one of our express shuttle buses to the high school. They make morning drop-off a breeze!
