Bethlehem Central High School’s theater ensembles have announced two productions for the 2026–27 school year. They include the original play Fading Fireflies by Amy Roos, which will debut in December, and the popular musical Chicago: Teen Edition, which will be performed in April 2027.
Fading Fireflies
Theatre Without a Net (TWON) will present Fading Fireflies, Dec. 11-13, 2026 at the high school.
Set against the warm, restless days of summer 1971, Fading Fireflies, a new play by Amy Roos, tells the story of Marshall and his friends as they explore his grandparents’ land in search of a long lost treasure. Guided by a hand drawn map created decades earlier, they uncover a magical amulet that continues to disappear before them like the last days of summer. As friendships strain and secrets from the past surface, Marshall must choose between clinging to childhood fantasies or embracing the inevitable change of growing up.
Through whispered truths, shared adventures, and the fading glow of fireflies under the Southern sky, the kids discover that some treasures belong not to us but to the land itself.

Chicago: Teen Edition
Stage 700 will present Chicago: Teen Edition, Apr. 8-11, 2027, at the Bethlehem Central High School auditorium.
Step into the dazzling world of the Roaring Twenties, where fame, fortune, and all that jazz take center stage. Chicago: Teen Edition brings the excitement of the long-running Broadway hit to the stage with a version specially adapted for young performers while preserving the show’s unforgettable music, dynamic choreography, and sharp wit.
Chicago follows Roxie Hart and Velma Kelly, who find themselves behind bars while fighting for the spotlight. With the help of a charismatic lawyer, Billy Flynn, each woman tries to turn scandal into celebrity, proving that in a world obsessed with headlines, perception can be just as powerful as the truth.
With an unforgettable score by John Kander and Fred Ebb and the iconic choreography originally conceived by Bob Fosse, Chicago includes beloved musical numbers such as “All That Jazz,” “Cell Block Tango,” and “Roxie.” At its heart, the show is a sharp satire of fame, justice, media influence, and the stories we choose to believe.
