Spotlight on FBLA Class of 2021

The Business Department wishes its senior members of FBLA all the best in their future endeavors. Each of them were asked to reflect on their experience with FBLA.

Sahil Amin

“Throughout my three years here at BCHS, the business department has made a significant impact on me. I started off joining FBLA where I got the opportunity to get involved in competitions revolving around business concepts. I was able to place top five in the region in the Personal Finance event followed by third place in the state which has qualified me to go to nationals. In addition to becoming the President of FBLA, I volunteered at the Buy-It School Store where I progressed my knowledge of finance as the Treasurer. I have also taken two business courses at Bethlehem. Firstly, CEIP allowed me the opportunity to intern at CAP COM Federal Credit Union and Northwestern Mutual where speaking with department heads and shadowing financial advisors really allowed me to finalize that business was for me. I love the idea of combining my interest in numbers and my outgoing personality within the business field. Secondly, taking the Financial Accounting course just gave me a glimpse of what I would see in the future when I go to college and beyond. Ultimately, BCHS has expanded my knowledge of the business field and has allowed me to say, with confidence, that next year I will be attending Cornell University to concentrate in finance and minor in real estate.”

John Janeski

“I will be continuing his academic and swimming career at Lafayette College for the next four years. I will be studying economics and plan to focus on finance. I have been involved in FBLA since sophomore year and would like to thank Ms. Farrell for everything she has done over the past three years of being her student and helping him succeed.”

Evan Marshall

“When I joined FBLA as a sophomore, I was still very unaware of what I wanted to do as a future career. Spending many Wednesdays after school in Ms. Farrell’s classroom is not only where I found my passion for business, but where I had the opportunity to surround myself with people similar to me. I am so grateful for everything I’ve learned and the people I’ve met in my couple years in FBLA. Next year, I will be attending the University of Pittsburgh to study business and already have an internship in place with the baseball program at the University. I plan on working towards a degree in Business Administration with certificates in Sports Management and Leadership and Ethics. After college, I have dreams of working for a Major League Baseball team in a Player Operations department. I would like to thank Ms. Farrell for all she has done for me in my high school career and for my past and present FBLA members for helping me find my passion.”

Brianna Doran

Brianna was an active member in FBLA for the last three years of which she has served as Vice President and Secretary. She participated in the SDM events in Job Interview – placing all three years. Brianna volunteered in the Buy-It School Store and enjoyed providing customer service to the high school community. She has successfully completed a Pathway to Graduation in CTE/Business Administration/Management and will be attending NYS University at Albany to study Business Administration.

Aidan Scharf

Aidan was a member of FBLA for the last two years serving as Parliamentarian. Aidan has enjoyed taking classes in sports marketing and CEIP where he is completing an internship with Northwestern Mutual. This experience has solidified his career interest in finance and business.
