The Bethlehem Central School District is a proud member of its community and considers itself an important hub of healthy community activities and education, as well as information and awareness. The BC Community Announcements page provides information regarding educational and recreational activities and programs that benefit the students and families of the district. 

If you want your organization’s programs or events listed below, please use this form. Only listings that meet the terms and conditions set by Board Policy 1810 will be considered for publication. This information can be found below.

Community Events and Activities

Cub Scout Pack 272 Slingerlands Opening Campfire – September 16 – 6 PM @ Five Rivers

We will have Scout skill stations, Campfire program with s’mores + tug-of-war. New and advancing Scouts receive their handbooks! Cub Scout Pack 272 is open to boys and girls in grades K-5 who attend Slingerlands or Elsmere elementary schools. This is a great opportunity for families to learn about scouting, and what our pack has to offer. Bethlehem Girls Basketball Club fall registration underway

Have you ever dreamed of studying abroad?

If you have ever thought about living in another country, learning a new culture and language, or having friends from around the world, becoming an exchange student may be right for you! The Rotary Club of Delmar is seeking Bethlehem High School students interested in becoming exchange students for the 2026-27 school year. Cub Scout Pack 232 to host Scoutapalooza! on Sept. 14

Families can learn about Cub Scouts (for  boys and girls K-5)  and enjoy some fun activities when Pack 232 hosts Scoutapalooza! on Saturday, Sept. 14 from 3p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Selkirk Fire Station #2 (301 Glenmont Rd., Glenmont, NY 12077). Activities will included a water balloon drop challenge, fire truck tour, ice cream, inflatable archery range, information table and more. Please park in the Tractor Supply parking lot. Bethlehem Lacrosse Club offering fall programs for grades 1-6

The Bethlehem Lacrosse Club is now open for fall registration! Lacrosse is offered for grades 1-6. Fall is a great time to learn the fundamentals of the game. Practices are held one night a week at the Elm Ave Town Park. There are a few local competitive events throughout the fall Visit the website www.bethlehemlacrosseclub.com to sign up. Friends of the Bethlehem Public Library Book Sale is Sat., Sept. 27

The Friends of the Bethlehem Public Library will host a book sale on Saturday, Sept. 27 from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at 451 Delaware Ave in Delmar. The book sale is a “suggested donation, cash only” event. No change will be available, so please plan ahead.


Policies, procedures and guidelines

Board Policy 1810 – Guidelines for Community Announcements in Bethlehem Central Publications

  • No announcements from for-profit organizations will be published.
  • Announcements will be published from groups affiliated with the District (often referred to as Bethlehem Central President’s Council member groups). A list of these organizations can be found below.
  • In addition, announcements regarding recreational and educational activities and programs that benefit children within the school community may be published. These activities, events, and programs must take place within District boundaries to be considered for publication.
  • From time to time, it is recognized that the Towns of Bethlehem and New Scotland seek to bring attention to important information for town residents. When one of the towns identifies information of such importance, publication will be considered.
  • Advertising/Announcements for both student fundraisers and fundraisers for booster clubs and parent organizations (groups affiliated with the District) will be published only after the fundraiser has received the necessary approvals under District policy governing such fund-raising activities.
  • The final decision on what may or may not be disseminated using Bethlehem Central School District communication tools lies with the superintendent.
