At its meeting on May 20, the Bethlehem Central Board of Education appointed Kyle Roberts as the district’s supervisor of physical education, health and athletics.
In the new role, Roberts will oversee all K-12 instruction in physical education and health education across all seven schools. He will also supervise intramurals and modified-level athletics and will work with building leaders to support student wellness initiatives.
Roberts arrives at Bethlehem from the Fonda-Fultonville Central School District. Currently finishing his third year there, he has been the assistant principal for grades 5-12 and previously held the role of interim middle school principal.
Throughout a 14-year career in education, Roberts has served in various capacities, including physical education instruction for grades Pre-K through 7, secondary health education, and as an adjunct professor. His extensive background also includes coaching numerous sports at all levels and managing community recreation programs.
Kyle Roberts is a graduate of SUNY Cortland, holds a master’s degree from Canisius, and earned his administrative certification through SUNY Stony Brook.
Roberts noted that the supervisor position aligns perfectly with his professional expertise and passion for student wellness.
“I cannot speak highly enough of how others have touted the culture, academics, and student voice at BC,” said Roberts. “I am looking forward to getting back to my roots of physical education, health and athletics. I am passionate about capacity creation, curriculum refinement and athletic programmatic success and am looking forward to working with an accomplished BC team.”
A native of Saratoga Springs and a “big fan and proponent” of the Upstate region, Roberts spends his time outside of school biking, traveling, and enjoying time on the lake.
