Six Bethlehem Central High School seniors have been named 2027 National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists, placing them among a select group of high-achieving students recognized nationally for their academic accomplishments.
2027 National Merit Semifinalists
The students are:

- Anna Chrapowitzky
- Andrew Faller
- Bhargava Janga
- John (Jack) Keating
- Hasni Rajulu
The National Merit Scholarship Program recognizes academically talented students from across the United States. Semifinalists are selected based on their performance on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT), along with other program criteria.
Only 16,000 students nationwide have been named semifinalists, representing less than 1% of high school seniors. More than 1.2 million students in the U.S. took the qualifying PSAT offered in their junior year in 2025.
The six BC semifinalists are among the top-performing students in the country, now eligible to compete for more than $24 million in scholarships that will be awarded in spring 2027.

In addition to the semifinalists, 16 BCHS seniors have been named National Merit Commended students. These students placed among the top 50,000 students nationwide on the 2025 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
