Dream small: BCMS students tour nanotech campus

On Friday, Apr. 17, a group of 36 seventh-grade students from Bethlehem Central Middle School took a trip to the College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering (CNSE) at the University at Albany. The students enrolled in the middle school’s Engineering Basics course were able to tour the state-of-the-art Albany Nanotech Complex and attend lectures by CNSE professors and graduate students.

The middle schoolers learned about careers in nanotechnology. They also participated in hands-on activities, and some tried on cleanroom suits used by manufacturing workers in the nanotech industry.

Thank you to the faculty and staff at CNSE and the middle school for making the field trip a wonderful educational experience for our students!
