The 2026-27 school supply lists for students at Slingerlands Elementary School can be found below.

Kindergarten | Grade 1 | Grade 2 | Grade 3 | Grade 4 | Grade 5

Kindergarten

A list of supplies can be found below, or download and print a PDF version of the Kindergarten supply list.

  • Backpack—labeled with name (No wheels please! Large enough to hold a folder, large library book, and a lunchbox.)
  • Plastic pencil box (4”x8”)- labeled with name
  • 1 box of Ticonderoga #2 pencils (12 count)
  • 1 package of 3 Black Expo fine tip dry erase markers
  • 3 boxes of crayons (16 or 24 count)
  • 1 Scribble pad (newsprint paper from a dollar store works great!)
  • 5 large Glue sticks
  • 1 smock—labeled with name—an old adult t-shirt works great!
  • 1 change of clothing in a plastic Ziploc bag, labeled with your child’s name
  • 1 pair of headphones (not wireless) labeled with your child’s name.
  • 1 reusable water bottle, labeled with child’s name.

Grade 1

  • 1 backpack large enough for binders, folders, books, lunch, etc.
  • 3 plain (no designs) 2-pocket folders (blue, green, yellow)
  • 2 boxes of crayons (24 count, Crayola preferred)
  • 10-12 fine-tip black dry-erase markers ( Expo preferred)
  • 8-10 small glue sticks
  • 2 containers of Play-Doh (Any brand)
  • 1 pair of durable headphones ( not Bluetooth)
  • 1 pair of scissors ( children’s round tip Fiskars)
  • 1 box of 12 standard-sized pencils ( Ticonderoga preferred)
  • 1 plastic pencil box
  • 1 water bottle ( this will come back and forth with your child daily, so that it
    can be washed and refilled at home)
  • ** Mrs. McCaffrey’s class needs a 1-inch binder**
  • Please label the headphones, scissors, folders, pencil box, water bottle and Play-Doh with your child’s first and last name in Sharpie.

Grade 2

  • 1 dozen SHARPENED #2 TICONDEROGA pencils
  • 2 LARGE pencil erasers
  • 2 boxes of 24 Crayola crayons
  • 1 pack of 10 Crayola washable markers (broad classic – not the fine point)
  • 1 pack of 12 Crayola colored pencils
  • 1 standard pencil BOX (no bags)
  • 3 YELLOW highlighters
  • 8 FINE Tip Expo markers, BLACK only
  • 1 pair of scissors
  • 4 ULTRA FINE point Sharpie markers, BLACK only
  • 9-10 LARGE glue sticks (no glitter or scented)
  • 2 Composition notebooks (black and white marble)
  • 3 HEAVY DUTY pocket folders (colors: blue, yellow, green)
  • 1 WHITE 3-ring binder with front view pocket (size: ½ inch)
  • 1 pair of headphones (no ear buds)
  • Please note: Some supplies will be collected for community use. Do not label materials with student names.

Grade 3

  • 2 – Yellow highlighters
  • 1 – Box of colored pencils (12 pack)

  • 4 – Dozen sharpened #2 pencils
  • 1 – Pencil pouch/box
  • 1 – Pack of 3×3 Post-It Notes
  • 1 – Scissors (6 in), “Big Kid” or “8+”
  • 2 – Large glue sticks
  • 4 – Black dry erase markers
  • 1 – Headphones (no earbuds or wireless)

Grade 4
