America Recycles Day is Saturday, Nov. 15 at BCMS

The Bethlehem Central School District’s Green Team will again partner with the Town of Bethlehem, Delmar Farmers Market and Grassroot Givers for the 11th annual America Recycles Day. The community recycling event will take place at Bethlehem Central Middle School at 332 Kenwood Avenue, Delmar, NY 12054. The event will be held on Saturday, November 15.

What You Can Bring

  • Clothing and Textile Reuse & Recycling – All types of clothing and household textiles accepted.

  • Document Shredding / Paper Recycling Limited to Town of Bethlehem residents or BCSD taxpayers with ID (max. 3 medium-sized boxes per household).

  • Book Reuse & Recycling – Collected by Grassroot Givers. Gently used books will be reused; others will be recycled.

  • Bicycles & Training Wheels Reuse – Kids’ and adult bikes, as well as training wheels in good condition, will be donated for reuse by Wheels Up of Albany.

Accepted Textile Items

  • Wearable clothing (men’s, women’s, children’s)

  • Household textiles (tablecloths, sheets, blankets, curtains, towels)

  • Belts, hats, gloves, purses, bags, backpacks, footwear

All items should be clean and dry. Worn or slightly damaged items are okay!

Unacceptable Items

  • Mattresses, rugs, pillows, loose foam stuffing, toys, or household goods

  • Wet, mildewed, or smelly textiles

  • Items contaminated with oil, paint, or hazardous materials


Seniors – Need Help with Document Drop-off?

If you’re over 60, Bethlehem Senior Transportation may be able to help with home pickup for documents (not other items).
