On Saturday, Feb. 14, the BC boys Varsity Swim & Dive team won the Section 2 Division 1 championship at Shenendehowa High School. It was the team’s first sectional championship since 2001.
The sectional title followed an undefeated regular season for BC Boys Swim & Dive. It was the first undefeated season for the team since 1997.
“Every person on this team had a part in the success we had this weekend,” said Coach Tom Kearney. “I am proud of each and every one of them.

- 100 Butterfly – Section 2 Champion (Jacob Hershberg), 3rd place (Eli German)
- 100 Backstroke – Section 2 Champion (Jacob Hershberg), 2nd place (Ewan Izzard) 5th place (Eli German), 8th place (Levi German)
- 50 Freestyle – 2nd place (Jack Keating), 5th place (Mikolaj Wloszczynski and 7th place (Ian Savage)
- 400 Freestyle Relay – 3rd Place (Jack Keating, Ian Savage, Jacob Hershberg, Mikolaj Wloszczynski)
- 100 Breastroke – 6th place (Bhargava Janga)
- 100 Freestyle – 3rd place (Jack Keating), 5th place (Ian Savage), 6th place (Mikolaj Wloszczynski), 16th place (Ben Zhang)
- 200 Freestyle Consolation – 9th place (Alex Skuza)
- 500 Freestyle Consolation – 1st (Luke Peters)
- Diving – 8th place (Max Connolly), 9th place (Tahir Hocalar)
NYS Qualifiers
With their exceptional season and sectional win, several team members have qualified for the NYS Swim & Dive Championships in March. They include:
