What is Bridge to College (B2C)?

A BCHS college mentoring and assistance program for 1st Generation students and families. Students are selected in the middle of their junior year and continue through the end of senior year.

What is a 1st Generation student?

We are defining “1st Generation” as any student who is the first person in their immediate family to graduate from a four-year college in the United States. That definition could also apply to students who have an older sibling who has already gone through the college application process.

Why would this program be helpful and important?

The program will provide high levels of support for selected 1st Generation students hoping to attend a 4-year college. All aspects of the complex college process will be covered including college visits, the application process, the Common Application, essays, the resume, teacher and counselor recommendations, financial aid, SAT/ACT testing, etc.

How many 1st Generation students will be accepted into the program?

We can accept 10-15 students from this year’s junior class.

How long is the Bridge to College Program?

Assistance will be provided during both junior and senior years of high school.
