Bridge to College offers support to First Gen college applicants

A message for BCHS juniors and their families:

We are excited to introduce you to our Bridge to College (B2C) program at BCHS. B2C is a free mentoring program and close-knit community aimed to help guide our 1st Generation students and their families through the entire college application process. In our fourth year, we look forward to providing assistance to our B2C students and families in the following areas:

  • Personal college mentoring coach
  • Getting started with the college search process
  • Naviance
  • College essay
  • Resume
  • Common Application
  • Financial Aid, FAFSA, and Scholarships
  • College visits & Interviews
  • Developing a college list
  • Teacher and counselor recommendations
  • Free SAT prep

We define “1st Gen” as a student who will be the first member of their immediate family to graduate from a 4-year college in the United States. That definition could also apply to students who have an older sibling who has already gone through the college application process.

We are now accepting applications from our Junior class (Class of 2023). Space is limited in our 2023 cohort; we are looking to accept 10-15 students. If you are a 1st Generation student and would like assistance in the areas listed above, please use the link below to learn more and apply for the program.

Learn more about Bridge to College and apply to be part of the 2023 Bridge to College cohort.

The deadline for submitting an application is Friday, February 18, 2022.

Sincerely,

The Bridge to College Team
