
A Celebration of Life for BC French teacher Michele Atallah will be held on Friday, November 7, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Thacher Park Visitor Center in Voorheesville. Madame Atallah, a beloved longtime World Language teacher at the high school, passed away on Sunday, November 2.
The Celebration of Life, hosted by Mme. Atallah’s family, is open to students, staff and families. The high school will close early on Friday, Nov. 7, at 10:30 a.m., to allow staff and students to attend the celebration. Information about the early dismissal as well as bus transportation for staff and students will be sent via ParentSquare. (Students will need permission from a parent/guardian to use bus transportation.)
Per Madame Atallah’s wishes, the family kindly requests that guests:
- Refrain from wearing black.
- Plant a tree or consider donating to the Mohawk Hudson Land Conservancy in lieu of flowers.
- Be prepared to write a memory or share a photo that will be pinned up around the room to “fill it with love and happiness.”
The Thacher Park Visitor Center is located at 830 Thacher Park Rd., Voorheesville, NY 12186. The celebration will take place in the Helderberg Room. Attendees can stop by anytime between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
The high school will dismiss early on Friday, Nov. 7, to accommodate staff and students who wish to attend the celebration.
