Choral Festival makes a triumphant return to BC

On March 16, 2023, the District Choral Festival made a triumphant return to Bethlehem after several years. The Choral Festival was the first district event to be canceled as a result of Covid in 2020.

This year, the Choral Festival featured guest artist Joe Carroll who joined students in grades 5-12 at the high school to perform songs from several Broadway musicals at two evening concerts.

Carroll has been seen on Broadway in Frozen (Hans), Bandstand (Johnny Simpson), Cinderella (Prince Topher), Romeo and Juliet, and Once and was part of the world premiere of Moulin Rouge at the Colonial Theater in Boston and Bandstand at Paper Mill Playhouse. The actor and singer, who is a graduate of the University of Michigan, also has extensive television experience.

Until the Covid pandemic interrupted the festival calendar, the BC Music Department had a tradition of hosting one districtwide music festival each year to bring music students of all ages together. The festivals rotate each year, featuring students who participate in the district’s music programs in choir, orchestra and band.

A tremendous thank you to all of our music teachers for bringing music back to our students and our community!
