Needed: Gently used backpacks for Backpack Program

Do you have an old backpack you want to put to good use? Donate it to the BC Weekend Backpack Program by dropping it off at the high school Main Entrance between 7:30 a.m. and 3 p.m., Monday through Friday through Mar. 27.

Bethlehem Central High School sponsors a districtwide effort to address food insecurity and food shortages affecting some of our students through a weekend backpack food program.

Every Friday during the school year, 60-80 backpacks are filled with nonperishable, individually-portioned foods by student volunteers. They are distributed to students at their schools each week.

Generous community donors have ensured there is enough food available for the remainder of the school year, however, there is currently a shortage of backpacks. If you have a backpack you would like to donate to the program, please drop it off at the high school Main Entrance between 7:30 a.m. and 3 p.m., Monday through Friday.

If you are a family who would like to receive a backpack through the BC Weekend Backpack Program, please contact the main office of your child’s school.
