Diversity, Equity & Inclusion working groups for parents, guardians

The following invitation is for parents/guardians of K-12 students currently enrolled in BC schools:

Bethlehem Central School District is committed to supporting an environment in which all members of our school community feel free to engage as their authentic selves in an atmosphere of mutual respect and civility.

In support of this vision, the district’s Chief Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Officer Dr. Latisha Ellis-Williams is inviting parents and guardians to be part of the district’s DEI work.

Dr. Ellis-Williams and Harriette Grosvenor — an educational consultant who has worked with the district for several years — will facilitate four DEI working groups in the areas of academics, character, community and wellness.

There are two opportunities to learn more about the district’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion efforts and to sign up as a volunteer on one of the four working groups. The sign-up opportunities will take place in person, following each presentation. One presentation will be held in the evening and the other in the afternoon.
