Donate food, gently used backpacks to the BC Backpack Program

The BC Weekend Backpack program provides supplemental food to more than 80 students each week. Currently, the program needs donations of backpacks and non-perishable food items.

Donations may be dropped off at any one of the district’s seven schools between 7:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. through Friday, Aug. 29.

Backpacks:

Please consider donating a gently used or new backpack to the BC Backpack Program. 

Non-perishable food items:

  • Granola and/or breakfast bars
  • Cereal boxes (single-serve boxes) 
  • Instant oatmeal packets or microwavable cups 
  • 100% Juice boxes 
  • Water bottles
  • Mac & Cheese (single-serve microwavable packets)
  • Canned ravioli, pasta, SpaghettiOs, meatballs
  • Canned tuna or chicken
  • Ramen noodles 
  • Peanut butter. plastic containers
  • Jelly, plastic containers
  • Cookies/crackers (single-serve, including peanut butter sandwich crackers)
  • Fruit cups
  • Pudding cups
  • Fruit snacks & Rice Krispie treats
  • Microwave popcorn
  • Bread
  • Coupons for milk

    If you are a family who would like to receive a backpack through the BC Weekend Backpack Program, please contact the main office of your child’s school after Sept. 4, the first day of school.
