All BC elementary schools and the middle school will dismiss students early on Tuesday, June 18 and Thursday, June 20, due to anticipated extreme heat. The high school will run final exams on the regular schedule but will be adding temporary, commercial-size air conditioning units to high school exam locations.
The district will monitor weather forecasts and building temperatures to determine whether there will be an early release on Friday, June 21. There is no school for students or staff on Wednesday, June 19 (Juneteenth).
Adjusted schedules for Tuesday, June 18 and Thursday, June 20 are as follows:
- All elementary schools – 12:30 p.m. dismissal Tues/Thurs: Lunch periods will begin at 10:30 a.m. to allow all students to have lunch. School’s Out will not operate.
- Middle school – 11:30 a.m. dismissal Tues/Thurs: Lunch periods will begin at 10 a.m. to allow all students to have lunch.
- High school – Regular exam schedule (temporary AC units will be in place in exam locations). If any changes need to be made, those changes will be communicated to students, staff and families via ParentSquare.
