Residents of the Bethlehem Central School District have approved a $116.6 million budget for the 2025-26 school year by a margin of 2,663 to 840, or approximately 76% in favor to 24% opposed.
A bus purchase proposition and a capital reserve fund were also approved by district voters:
- Bus purchase proposition (71% approval – 2,472 yes; 1,013 no)
- Capital reserve fund (72% approval – 2,490 yes; 989 no)
Voters also elected John Walston and Robert Tietjen to the Board of Education. Walston and Tietjen will serve three-year terms beginning July 1, 2025. They are current members of the seven-person Board and both were elected to second terms.
There were three candidates on the ballot for two open seats. The Board of Education election results are:
- John Walston received 2,164 votes
- Robert Tietjen received 1,897 votes
- Susan Barber received 1,570 votes
Vote results reported above are preliminary. Official results are expected to be certified by the Board of Education at its meeting on Wednesday, May 21 at the high school.
