Student athletes head to NYS Championships Mar. 6-7

Eleven Bethlehem Central High School students will travel this weekend to compete in New York State championship athletics events.

2026 Indoor Track & Field State Championships

Four Bethlehem Central High School students will head to Staten Island this weekend to compete in the New York State Indoor Track & Field Championships at Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.

They are:

  • Anna Chrapowitzky, a junior, will compete in the 1,500-meter run;
  • Calvin Howard, a junior, will compete in the 1,600-meter run;
  • Lucas Nalbone, a junior, will compete in the Intersectional Relay; and
  • Jonathan Radcliffe, a senior, will compete in two events: the 55-meter dash and the 300-meter dash.

2026 Boys Swimming & Diving State Championships

Seven Bethlehem Central High School students will head to Ithaca this weekend to compete in the New York Boys Swimming & Diving State Championships at the Kelsey Partridge Bird Natatorium on the Ithaca College campus. The seven are members of the 2025-26 Section 2 champion boys swim team.

They are:

  • Eli German, a freshman, will compete in the 100 Butterfly;
  • Jacob Hershberg, a senior, will compete in three events: the 200 Medley Relay, 100 Backstroke, and the 100 Butterfly;
  • Ewan Izzard, a senior, will compete in four events: the 200 Medley Relay, 200 Freestyle Relay, 100 Backstroke, and the Individual Medley;
  • Bhargava Janga, a junior, will compete in two events: the 200 Medley Relay, and the 100 Breaststroke;
  • Jack Keating, a junior, will compete three events: the 200 Medley Relay, 200 Freestyle Relay, and the 50 Freestyle; 
  • Ian Savage, a junior, will compete in the 200 Freestyle Relay; and
  • Mikolaj Wloszczynski, a senior, will compete in the 200 Freestyle Relay.
