Bethlehem Central High School senior Lita Start is set to join other aspiring chefs who will share their culinary skills this evening at a gala fundraiser to support the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York.

Start, a student in the Culinary Arts & Hospitality program at Capital Region BOCES Career and Technical Education Center, is one of only four area students selected to represent the program at the CHEFS: Palm Royale fundraiser at the Albany Capital Center.

The aspiring student chefs and bakers will join professional chefs from some of the top Capital Region restaurants to offer attendees what is being described as “the best farm-to-table four-course meal in the Capital Region.”  The Capital Region BOCES students will be making a variety of focaccia breads for the event, including Mediterranean-inspired loaf and cinnamon sugar loaf to complement the meal.

Proceeds from the event will go to the Regional Food Bank. The food bank collects donated food and distributes it to nearly 1,000 food pantries and shelters across 23 counties.
