BC junior recognized in Congressional Art Competition

BC junior Quinn Knaub with Congressman TonkoBethlehem Central High School junior Quinn Knaub has been recognized in the 2025 Congressional Art Competition for New York’s 20th Congressional District. 

Knaub’s original watercolor and ink piece, Living in Creativity, was awarded runner-up in the 2025 Congressional Art Competition and will be displayed in Congressman Paul Tonko’s district office for the next year. Knaub was recognized for her achievement at an awards reception last month at the Arts Center of the Capital Region in Troy, where student artwork from across the congressional district was on display.

“Thank you to Congressman Tonko for this unique opportunity to recognize and promote the visibility of high school art in the Capital Region,” said Knaub. “I am honored to receive this award, and I hope having my artwork hang in Congressman Tonko’s district office will inspire creativity.”

Knaub also expressed gratitude to her art teacher, Melanie Painter, for her continued support in helping students identify avenues to share their work with the community through exhibitions and competitions.

Now in its 43rd year, the Congressional Art Competition celebrates the creativity and talent of high school students across the nation. Since the competition’s inception, more than 650,000 students have participated.
