Donate and help community families this holiday season

Families, area residents and local businesses can take part in the annual tradition of giving at BC. Caring and Sharing is a year-round program most associated with the holiday season. A districtwide Winter Food Drive and community donations support the program. Don’t miss this opportunity to be a part of this community effort!

BC Winter Food Drive and Holiday Community Donations

  • All schools are collecting shelf-stable food items to support the BC Caring and Sharing Program through Dec. 12, 2025. The Caring and Sharing program assists families in the school community who may be struggling to make ends meet by providing food and grocery gift cards for the December holiday break and throughout the school year.
  • View the list below for the items your child’s school will be collecting. (Some schools are using a classroom-specific donation list so if you have questions about what to donate, please reach out to your child’s school.)  There will also be a “Drive Up, Drop Off” day for food donations at the high school on Friday, Dec. 5 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
  • If you are a community member or business who would like to make a cash or gift card donation, please contact Sherri Fitzpatrick in the district’s Student Support Services department at 518-439-8886 or by email at sfitzpatrick2@bethlehemschools.org

Families who want to receive the Caring and Sharing food items and grocery gift cards can reach out to a school nurse or school counselor. Any family enrolled in the backpack program has been placed on this list.

Families who enroll in Caring and Sharing can pick up these items on Saturday, December 13 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Bethlehem Central High School at the cafeteria entrance on the Van Dyke Road side of the school. For those who can’t make it to the Saturday pick-up, there will be an alternate pick-up date on Tuesday evening, Dec. 16.
