Eagle HEARTS Principal Reagan

Valentine’s Day has always been Principal Dianna Reagan’s favorite holiday, and this year, the Eagle Elementary School community made it one she will never forget.

On Thursday, Feb. 12, the entire school was in on a secret, except for Principal Reagan. Students and staff spent the week quietly planning and rehearsing for a “super secret assembly”, a surprise Valentine’s Day-themed celebration to recognize Reagan’s years of leadership as she prepares to retire in June.

When she stepped into the gymnasium on Thursday afternoon, she was crowned the Queen of Eagle and led to sit on her throne. The staff and students celebrated Mrs. Reagan with smiles, songs, and some of her favorite things — including Dove chocolates and two very special guests: her husband and daughter, who wore matching “I love Mrs. Reagan” sashes.

Students were thrilled when Eddie the Eagle and his cousin baby Bob, puppets voiced by Reagan and adored by the children, made a special appearance. Eddie the Eagle shared a decision he’s grappling with: should he move to Mrs. Reagan’s house when she retires, or continue to live at the school?

Reagan has served as Eagle’s first and only principal since it opened in 2008. “Eagle Elementary holds a very special place in my heart,” said Reagan. “It has been an honor to serve as its first principal for the last 18 years and to be part of a school community defined by kindness, collaboration, and a deep sense of pride.”

The celebration served as a HEARTfelt thank you to Principal Reagan for her years of service.
