Free school meals for all students starting in September

Beginning in September 2025, breakfast and lunch meals will be available to ALL Bethlehem Central School District students free of charge as a result of a new state law. Extra items such as snacks, additional entrees or extra milk will continue to be an additional cost.

Families are not required to fill out paperwork or an application to receive free meals in 2025-26. However, the amount of funding the district receives to provide these meals depends, in part, on income eligibility for Free and Reduced Lunch. We strongly encourage families to fill out the 2025-26 Free and Reduced Meal Application. Doing so will help ensure the district receives the funds it needs to support students. Eligible families may also be entitled to other benefits, such as waivers for Advanced Placement (AP) test fees or other school-related costs.

If all students will receive free meals, why should I fill out an application?

While no application is required to receive free meals,  we strongly encourage families to fill out the 2025-26 Free and Reduced Meal Application. Doing so will help ensure the district receives the funds it needs to support students. Families who qualify may also be eligible for benefits such as waivers for AP exams and college applications, discounts on school-related programs, and access to other resources.
