Summer Meals for Children 18 and Under
During the summer, all children and teens ages 18 and under can get free, nutritious meals at nearby places like parks, community centers and libraries. Meals vary, but all include nutritious foods like fruits, vegetables, grains and protein. Many sites offer fun activities, too. There is no need to sign up. Just show up! The nearest Summer Meals locations are in the city of Albany. Find a Summer Meals spot near you
Summer Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT)
Summer EBT (S-EBT) helps families with school-age children buy food during the summer. Most eligible children will automatically receive Summer EBT, but some families may need to apply. Learn more at NYSOTDA’s Summer EBT webpage
Update for Fall 2025
Beginning in September 2025, breakfast and lunch will be available to all students free of charge as a result of a new state law. The amount of funding the district receives to provide these meals depends, in part, on income eligibility for Free and Reduced Lunch. We strongly encourage families to fill out the 2025-26 Free and Reduced Meal Application. Doing so will help ensure the district receives the funds it needs to support students. Eligible families may also be entitled to other benefits, such as waivers for Advanced Placement (AP) test fees or other school-related costs.
