BCHS Online Attendance Form

clock with text

BCHS families have an easier and more efficient way to report student absences at the high school. In 2020-21, the school introduced a new Google Form to replace phone calls and handwritten notes from parents. The new online form is designed to streamline the user experience and help the school track attendance data in a more uniform way.

The online attendance form is for high school families only. If your high school student is going to be absent from school for any reason you should notify the school on the day of the absence. The online form is for non-COVID absences only.

What types of absences should be reported on the new form?

  • Illness (non-COVID)
  • Dismissal from school (ex.Medical appointments during the school day)
  • Tardy to school
  • Learning remotely when your child is scheduled to be in-person

Where should I report COVID related issues?

  • Please report COVID related issues directly to the health office at 518-439-4967. Also, please remember to fill out the daily COVID screening tool for your child(ren).

Is this form to be used for all school days, whether in-person or remote?

  • Yes. Attendance records are important no matter whether your student is scheduled to be at school or is learning from home. If your child will not be in class or will be late, the school needs to know.

Can I still call the main office to report an absence?

  • Yes. The attendance line at the main office will remain as an option. The phone number is 518-439-4921 (press 1 for attendance).

How will the school be able to verify that a parent/guardian has filled out the form?

The form will automatically collect the email address of the person submitting the form. An automatic reply email will be generated when an absence is submitted. The school will verify the email address in Aspen. If an absence is reported from an email address that does not belong to a parent/guardian, the student’s parent/guardian will be contacted.

Pin the new form to your phone for easy access.
