To add to the excitement of this year’s World Series, the students at Slingerlands Elementary School took part in a special election. Students had a chance to ‘vote’ for their favorite team in by bringing in food items and dropping them in a box marked Los Angeles Dodgers or Tampa Bay Rays.
The Slingerlands students collected 450 food items that will be donated to the Bethlehem Food Pantry. And, the Dodgers won the World Series.
