Letter from Principal Knox, Mar. 4

Hamagrael Families,

It’s not easy to articulate all of the emotions that I experienced over the past few days as we took a huge step towards some sort of normalcy. At arrival, when I opened the first car door, a kindergarten student stared at me for what felt like an eternity with wonder and excitement. Students skipped down the hallways and beamed with excitement as they saw smiling faces at school for the first time. There was a palpably buzz in the building and that was an incredible feeling.

There is also a lingering sense of hesitation and fear that lies beneath many of us and it’s important to identify that reality and to not pretend like it doesn’t exist for many of us. The upside is that this school community is united and I know we will always be there for one another. That quality is special and unique to any school and I am so grateful to be a part of it.

Hamagrael Strong,

Ian Knox

Book Fair

We will be having an in person book fair next week, Tuesday 3/8 through Thursday 3/10.  However, parents unfortunately cannot come in to shop.  We are getting there, but we just aren’t quite there yet! Children can shop at the book fair Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday during school hours.  The teachers will bring the kids down to make wish lists and there are times during the day the kids can come shop at the fair. There are no after school hours this year since it is not open to parents.  There are 3 ways for children to shop:

  • Cash
  • Check (made out to Hamagrael PTA)
  • eWallet – IMPORTANT CHANGE – eWallet HAS CHANGED. Any balances left on eWallet WILL NOT be credited back to the credit card.  The children have to spend what is preloaded on the eWallet, or it can be saved and used at a future fair.

Please support the fair. It has been 2 years since we have had an in person book fair, and the book fair is one of our largest fundraisers. If you have any questions, please contact Gianna Aiezza at giannaaie3@gmail.com.
